Policy Updates: AIR Confer on Friday, Prep on Thursday

• The Indian Health Service (IHS) recently sent a notice about an upcoming Virtual Urban Confer on the Urban Indian Organizations (UIO) All-Inclusive Rate (AIR).

• The Virtual Urban Confer will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022, from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. Eastern.

Why it matters: We know that the increased reimbursements through the AIR is important for UIOs and we are working hard to make that happen. Your attendance at Friday’s urban confer will be critical.

What’s Next: NCUIH will be submitting written comments to IHS before the August 5, 2022 deadline. Any information provided by UIOs during this Prep Session will be used to guide our comments to IHS.

The bottom line: UIOs getting the IHS All-Inclusive Rate is what Congress expects. It was the clear intent of Congress for the 100% FMAP legislation.
