The National Council of Urban Indian Health (NCUIH) is the national non-profit organization devoted to the support and development of quality, accessible, and culturally-competent health and public health services for American Indians and Alaska Natives (AI/ANs) living in urban settings.
NCUIH is the only national organization that advocates for the health of urban AI/AN, and we provide critically needed technical assistance, training, policy support, and other services to urban AI/AN located throughout the United States.
For more than 20 years, NCUIH advocated for health equity among the urban AI/AN population. NCUIH envisions a nation where comprehensive personal and public health services are available and accessible to all AI/AN living in urban centers throughout the United States.

NCUIH is at the forefront of protecting and advocating for Indian health to ensure the sustainability of Urban Indian Organizations (UIOs). Because of NCUIH’s deep collaborative relationships with UIOs, our team is strategically positioned to advocate for health equity for the urban AI/AN population. NCUIH regularly works with federal agencies, policymakers, and the general public to provide critically needed information on health disparities and needs among urban AI/AN.
