NCUIH’s Communities of Learnings (COLs) are peer-to-peer workforce support groups guided by technical specialists to create culturally appropriate and relevant trainings and technical assistance. NCUIH designs tailored content and resources for Urban Indian Health Care leaders, providers, and professionals that support quality health care delivery to urban American Indians and Alaska . The COL operates in virtual classrooms that enable Urban Indian program staff and leadership to gain best practices knowledge, conduct training webinars, share strategies and solutions, and request individual and/or peer-to-peer support. NCUIH uses SharePoint available on-demand to UIOs.
NCUIH assists UIO boards with their obligation to uphold the duty of organizational care, organizational loyalty, and ethical and legal obedience. In the interest of promoting sustainability and effectiveness, members understand a need to increase revenue, staffing, and quality of service delivery. NCUIH’s structured training and technical assistance promotes current best practices to ensure Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) efforts within UIOs, allowing them to provide added public value and become better stewards of their funding dollars by:
