About the Event:
This program kick-off and orientation session will introduce the Coral Council, a UIO Ambassador program that brings together UIO experts to share culturally-competent, evidence-based and promising best practices on HIV/AIDS. This program intends to highlight UIOs with HIV treatment and prevention programs in place to share their best practices throughout the urban American Indian and Alaska Native healthcare community.
Coral is something that American Indians attribute soothing qualities to; maintaining that it garners power in its rise from the sea. Coral aids the wearer in travel, health, and protection. We want to acknowledge the Coral Council as protectors and have a symbolic representation of the strength they bring with their knowledge and expertise.
