Join us for a 60-minute webinar exploring perinatal and postpartum mental health among American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) communities. This session will examine maternal mental health disparities, the impacts of historical trauma and systemic inequities, and the importance of culturally grounded approaches to maternal and family wellness. Presenters from Hummingbird Indigenous Family Services will highlight Indigenous-led models of care, including culturally rooted birth and postpartum support, community connection, and traditional healing practices. Participants will gain insight into protective factors that strengthen maternal mental health and explore practical strategies for incorporating culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and strengths-based approaches into programs and services supporting AI/AN families.
