Strengthening the Behavioral Health Workforce Through Peer Support
Join the National Council of Urban Indian Health (NCUIH) for a Community of Learning on how peer support can expand access to behavioral health services and create career pathways grounded in lived experience and community knowledge. Speakers will discuss the evidence behind peer support and practical considerations for Urban Indian Organizations (UIOs), including program integration, hiring, supervision, training, and long-term sustainability.
Participants will learn how to:
- Describe the role of peer support in behavioral health services and workforce development.
- Identify ways to integrate peer support into culturally responsive UIO programs.
- Apply lessons on developing and sustaining peer support programs.
