From Training to Practice: Building Sustainable Behavioral Health Workforce Pathways

Join NCUIH and David Bright of IHCRC to learn about an Urban Indian Organization’s (UIO) experience participating in a doctoral psychology internship program. This webinar will explore how structured clinical training can support a broader workforce development strategy, including the organizational capacity, supervision, and trainee support needed to build successful partnerships.

Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  1. Describe how clinical training and internship partnerships can support behavioral health workforce development within UIOs.
  2. Identify components of successful training partnerships, including organizational capacity, supervision, trainee support, and culturally responsive learning experiences.
  3. Explain how exposure to Urban Indian health settings during professional training can support future recruitment and retention.
  4. Identify practical opportunities to develop or strengthen academic and clinical training partnerships within their organizations.
