Short Abstract:

My name is W. Ron Allen and I am the Chairman and CEO of the Jamestown S'KtaHam

Tribe in Washington State. The Jamestown S'Kiallam Tribe is currently one of the five

largest employers in the county.

Everything we know about the anticipated health care reform is speculation yet its

potential impacts on Tribal communities could be significant. Too often Tribes are

behind the curve in health care changes and are left to figure out how to "fit in" after the

to articulate what will help and what will harm American Indians and Alaska Natives

(AI/AN) and the fragile Indian health programs that serve them. Health care reform

raises another important perspective for us to engage in -Tribes as employers.
