"according to a new report, which for the first time queried urban California Indians on insurance status, they are woefully underrepresented in two key health care programs for low-income children. The statewide study of urban Indian parents, conducted by researchers at The Center for Health Policy and Research at the University of California, Irvine, found that 45 percent of their children were lacking health insurance, despite the fact that they were eligible to receive medical care under the Medi-Cal or Healthy Families
