Behavioral Health Workforce Development Technical Assistance Program
Purpose
This program provides support to HRSA’s BHWD recipients to expand the number of highly trained behavioral health providers nationwide. Eligible programs include the Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training Program for Professionals, Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training Program for Paraprofessionals, and the Graduate Psychology Education program.
Eligibility
Urban Indian Organizations (UIOs) are eligible to apply, along with public and private nonprofit institutions, tribal governments, and other domestic organizations.
Funding Amount and Duration
Specific award amounts and durations are outlined in the NOFO. Funding is expected to be multi-year, with an estimated award date of September 1, 2025.
Application Deadline
Applications are due by March 3, 2025.

Description
The Circles of Care program (NOFO SM-25-016) provides Urban Indian Organizations (UIOs) with funding to design culturally and linguistically appropriate, community-based systems of care for AI/AN children at risk of mental health challenges. Up to $2.8 million is available, with awards of up to $350,000 annually for three years. HRSA Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training Program for Paraprofessionals
Description
The Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training (BHWET) Program for Paraprofessionals (NOFO HRSA-25-066) supports UIOs by funding community-based training to prepare paraprofessionals, such as peer support specialists and mental health workers, to address the behavioral health needs of AI/AN children, adolescents, and transitional-age youth at risk of behavioral health disorders. The program focuses on trauma-informed care, interprofessional collaboration, and workforce recruitment for high-need areas.
