2026 NCUIH Annual Conference: Celebrating 50 Years of the Indian Health Care Improvement Act

Join us for the NCUIH Annual Conference on April 27 – April 30, 2026 in Washington, D.C.

This year’s conference will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Indian Health Care Improvement Act (IHCIA) and highlight five decades of progress, collaboration, and continued commitment to Native health.

The conference provides a vital platform for Urban Indian Organizations, health care professionals, policymakers, community leaders, and advocates to come together and discuss critical issues related to urban Indian health.

    Note: Hill Visits are for IHS UIOs only and will require pre-registration.

NCUIH 2026 Board of Directors Training

April 27, 2026 | 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

The NCUIH Board of Directors Training is a free, full‑day training for Board Members of Indian Health Service–Funded Urban Indian Organizations. The training takes place the day before the NCUIH Annual Conference.

Registration includes the entire day of Board of Directors Training and lunch.

Only participants who register for the Board of Directors Training will be included in the lunch count.

The training focuses on practical governance, fiduciary responsibility, leadership, and strategic oversight for Urban Indian Organizations. Afternoon breakout sessions are available for both newer and more experienced board members.

Conference registration does not automatically include the Board of Directors Training. Participation is currently limited to IHS UIO Board Members.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will there be an opportunity to register on-site?
There is no option to register on-site.

Do presenters need to register?
All presenters must register for the conference. Individual presenters are responsible for any costs associated with attending the NCUIH Annual Conference, including registration.

Do you offer free tickets?
The Board Training, IHS and NCUIH sponsored events are noted as free. Some sponsor opportunities also include complimentary tickets.

Does NCUIH offer group registration?
One person can register multiple people at one time. NCUIH is not offering a group registration discount for the NCUIH 2026 Annual Conference. We recommend checking with your group before registering to prevent double registrations.

What methods of payment are accepted?
NCUIH accepts American Express, Discover Card, MasterCard, Visa, and checks as forms of payment.

How do I pay by check?
If you prefer to pay by check, please select the “pay by check” option when registering. Make checks payable to the National Council of Urban Indian Health and mail them to NCUIH, 712 H St NE, #5030, Washington, DC 20002. Please email conference@ncuih.org  to notify us when you mail your registration check. Your registration will remain incomplete until payment is confirmed.

How do I pay by invoice?
If you prefer to pay by invoice, please provide a contact name and email address for billing purposes. ACH payment information will be included on the invoice as an available payment option.

What is NCUIH’s cancellation, refund, and change policy?
Conference registration can be canceled on or before March 16 and is refundable minus credit card fees. Cancellations after March 16 will not be refunded, but registration may be transferred to another individual. Email conference@ncuih.org to cancel or transfer registration.
