Short Abstract:

Unity makes a real difference, and so does knowledge sharing-- NCUIH’s Annual Conference in fall 2007 was a living proof of both. A total of eighty five (85) participants -including NCUIH general membership, spiritual leaders, tribal and urban representatives; and NCUIH’s Board of Directors —gathered in Washington, D.C.  from September 18th-21st to discuss current challenges and opportunities in the Urban Indian Health sector.  The conference’s design allowed for the sharing of practical and technical knowledge that stemmed from the participants’ own experiences. This generated a great participative synergy throughout the whole event.
