Short Abstract:
Dear Urban Indian Health Program Participants and Advocates:
President Bush has, once again, recommended elimination of Urban Indian Health Program funding in the Administrations proposed FY 2009 Budget. This is the third consecutive year that the Administration has attempted to shut down the Urban Indian Health Programs. If the proposal is successful, the Urban Indian Health Programs across the country will be severely limited and, according to our estimate, over half would be forced to close down.
