In January of 1999, the U.S. Indian Health Service (IHS) began a series of four (4) regional consultation meetings with health care providers from IHS, Tribal and Urban Indian programs (I/T/U's) to Identify the major policy concerns and specific recommendations regarding the upcoming  re authorization of the Indian Health Care Improvement Act (IHCIA).
